Film Festival Update

Justin recently attended the Carmarthen Bay Festival, representing Purple Hat Productions' offering of Refuge which was in the short film and low budget short categories.

Unfortunately, Refuge didn't win an award but it was great to connect with the organisers and be part of a local (Welsh) festival that seems to be growing from strength to strength.

After Refuge, we were involved in the production of a sci-fi short called Timicide [tahym-uh-sahyd] which has made it into Cardiff Mini Film Festival under the Comedy category.

Fingers crossed for Timicide!

'Refuge' makes it into Carmarthen Bay Film Festival

We have recently been informed that the short film we've been involved in has made it into the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. Woohoo!

We have been nominated for two categories: No Budget Short and Short Film Made in Wales 2017.

Thanks to the hard-working team who helped pull this project together with very little money and lots of practical challenges! Carmarthen Bay Film Festival runs from the 8th - 12th May 2017.

Latest short film nearly complete

Actors James Ashton and Jack Muir in rehearsals.
In between editing and other video production tasks, Farsight has been putting the finishing touches to a short film, made as part of the Purple Hat Productions collective.

Timicide is a short sci-fi tale about a young man who is visited by his son from the future ... and that's just the beginning of what turns out to be a weird day.

Written and Directed by Justin Chaloner, Timicide is a low-budget experimental short that explores family, relationships and ... temporal displacement. Final touches are being made to a handful of special effects shots, music and grading.

'Timicide' will be made available online later this year. Watch this space!
